Lahore (Daily Pakistan Online) Despite the crackdown of electricity across the country for more than several hours, full restoration was not possible. Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir has set a deadline of 10 pm in this regard.

According to Geo News, most of the country, including Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, suffered from power outages due to the fault in the national grid at 7:30 this morning. Reacting to the nationwide crackdown, Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir said that electricity has been partially restored to electricity distribution companies in Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan and Sukkur. are in close contact, trying to restore power before the deadline.

90% of Karachi, the industrial capital of the country, is deprived of electricity. According to KE sources, disruption in the National Grid is the likely cause of the breakdown, and it may take 5 to 6 hours to fully restore power.

Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) sources said that all big and small cities, including Lahore, have lost electricity. According to preliminary information, there was a simultaneous fault in the southern and northern main lines. Due to the suspension of electricity supply, the Orange Line train was closed. Power supply has also been suspended in many other cities including Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Gojra, Sargodha, Shorkot, Pir Mahal and Multan region. Spokesperson ISCO said that the electricity supply to 117 grid stations of Islamabad is still suspended. The electricity supply has also been suspended in all the districts of Balochistan. Both the power transmission lines were tripped due to which power supply was suspended in a large part of the province
