Karachi: The Election Commission has rejected the request of the Sindh government to postpone the local body elections to be held on January 15.
According to the private TV channel “Dawn News”, the Election Commission has said that the deployment of army and rangers should be ensured at the most sensitive polling stations, while the municipal elections will not be delayed anymore, the second phase of the polling in different areas of Sindh. Local body elections will be held on January 15.
According to the report, this was decided in a meeting presided over by the Chief Election Commissioner, while the four provincial members of the Election Commission also participated in the meeting.
