Ghulam Mahmood Dogar reinstated as CCP Olahor, Supreme Court issued order

Islamabad (Daily Pakistan Online) CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, who was supported by Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and suspended by the federal government, has been reinstated by the Supreme Court.

According to the private TV channel “Jeo News”, a 3-member bench headed by Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan of the Supreme Court heard the reinstatement request of CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar. The Tribunal had reinstated and a 2-member bench of the Service Tribunal suspended the decision of the reinstatement, the decision of a two-judge bench of the Tribunal cannot be suspended by another two-judge bench while the government’s revision petition was also pending in the tribunal.

On the arguments of the lawyer, Justice Ijaz questioned that how can one bench of the tribunal suspend the decision of another bench? On the one hand, the special bench said that the petition is premature and also suspended the order. Justice Mazahir Naqvi said that how did the Lahore High Court say that the constitutional petition is not admissible? Later, the court reinstated CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar and adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.

It should be noted that the federal government had instructed Ghulam Mahmood Dogar to report to the establishment division, on which he did not follow the instructions of the federation and continued to work for which he was suspended, for the assassination attack on Chairman PTI. Later, Tehreek-e-Insaf workers also vandalized the Governor House Lahore during the protest in Lahore, Ghulam Mohammad Dogar was accused of neglecting to protect the Governor House and politicizing the police.
