The Power looked noticeably unsettled early in Thursday night’s qualifying final and Geelong capitalised through cleanness on the outside and supremacy in territory.
The Cats purred to a 17-point advantage before Port rallied, sharpening their execution and closing exits which were earlier left wide open for the visitors.
Winger Max Holmes has been busy for Geelong, while Patrick Dangerfield, who started in the middle against Zak Butters in a marquee match-up, has chalked up three clearances among his seven disposals.
