Whoever will be appointed Chief Justice of Lahore High Court will welcome them, the controversial notification should be withdrawn: Vice Chairman Kamran Bashir Mughal

LAHORE – Punjab Bar Council Vice Chairman Kamran Bashir Mughal has said that we hope that all matters will be resolved amicably in the meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council tomorrow (Tuesday) and whoever will be appointed as Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, we will welcome him. We appeal that the relations between the Bench and the Bar should be improved and for this the controversial notification of division of courts should be withdrawn.

In his statement, he said that in the recent months due to some reasons, there has been a disruption in the relationship between the bar and the bench, but we are determined to resolve these issues in a positive manner in the coming days.

He said that there is weight in our demand for the withdrawal of the controversial notification of division of courts and we strongly hope that whoever will be appointed as the new Chief Justice of Lahore High Court will look into this matter on a priority basis and will be resolved. Our only demand is that there should be a single cluster of courts to provide justice to the citizens as well as to facilitate the lawyers.

He said that the Punjab Bar Council is making rapid progress for the project of providing its roof to the lawyers, registration will be started from next week after the MoU regarding the housing society.
