Prince William has marked his 42nd birthday today by sharing a sweet new picture with his three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

The adorable photo shows William leaping in the air with George, Charlotte and Louis.

In the second picture of the family released in June, all four of them are holding hands as they jump on Holkham beach with huge smiles on their faces.

William, who is next in line to the throne, and his children are all dressed casual, with the new image shot close by to the family’s Norfolk home.

Here Express.co.uk looks at nine things you may have missed from the adorable newly-released image.

Taken By Princess Kate

Much like the recent Father’s Day picture, the Princess of Wales is credited as the photographer behind the sweet of her husband and children.

The Princess of Wales is said to have taken the shot during the family’s visit to Norfolk in May.

Kate, who made her first public appearance of the year in London on June 15, is known for her keen interest in photography.

Having been interested in photography since her days as a student, her passion has continued despite a photo editing drama that saw six global picture agencies withdraw the family’s official Mother’s Day photo over fears it had been “manipulated”.

Same beach as the Father’s Day picture

Earlier this month, on June 16, the family released a sweet picture of William and his children in honour of Father’s Day.

This picture was captured on Holkham beach – the same location as the most recent picture of the family.

The image is said to have been taken last month whilst they were holidaying in Norfolk during the school break.

Holkham beach will also be recognised as the same location used during the couple’s 10th anniversary video posted in 2021.

As well as looking like a carbon copy of her mother, fans also spotted that Princess Charlotte was rocking a piece of jewellery for the first time.

The nine-year-old was sporting a pretty little anklet, something she has never been seen wearing publicly before.

Back in 2022, Princess Kate sported a piece of jewellery that looked like an anklet in Belize in 2022. Kate and William were present for their Caribbean royal tour to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

In the relaxed family photo, William and his children are all barefoot as they posed for pictures of the beach.

Princess Kate’s sweet message

As well as being the photographer of the new image, Princess Kate was behind the sweet message that was released alongside it.

The sweet message read: “Happy birthday Papa, we all love you so much! Cx.”

The heir to the throne will undoubtedly be marking his special day privately with his family today.

Earlier this morning, King Charles posted on the official Royal Family’s social media accounts and wished his son and heir the happiest of birthdays with an adorable throwback picture.

Posed in a different order

Compared to the Father’s Day picture, the family have switched positions for the newly-released image.

Unlike the last image where she was on the left, Charlotte is seen posing on her father’s right.

Both George and Louis are positioned on William’s left – with Louis posed next to him.

Prince George, who is second line to the throne, is positioned furthest away from William.

Louis’s high-street top

Positioned in between his father and brother, Louis can be seen sporting a top from popular high-street retailer, Next.

Paired with navy blue shorts, the six-year-old’s blue ombré t-shirt is complete with a logo of a palm tree and the words, ‘Los Angeles’.

Unlike his brother, George can be seen wearing a top from Nike.

All wearing blue

As well as all sporting casual attire, all four of them were sporting a shade of blue in the new image.

Charlotte can be seen wearing a blue and white striped long-sleeved top, with William wearing a blue hooded jumper.

Louis is wearing a ombré t-shirt, and George is in a navy Nike top.
