Chief Justice took notice of the government’s interference in the investigative agencies

The Chief Justice of Pakistan took suo motu notice of the government’s interference in the investigative agencies.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial has taken suo motu notice on the suggestion of a fellow judge and fixed May 19 for hearing at one o’clock in the afternoon. A five-member large bench headed by the Chief Justice will hear the case.

Notice has been taken because the Government authorities are imposing restrictions on criminal law. According to the notice, transfer and posting of key officers is tantamount to interfering in the justice system. There is a danger of the evidence being tampered with and disappearing.
