FBR freezes PIA bank accounts
ISLAMABAD (Daily Pakistan Online): The problems of Pakistan International Airlines have further increased, the Federal Board of Revenue has frozen the bank accounts of PIA.
According to private TV Geo News, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has frozen the accounts of the national airline PIA. Done
Private TV quoted sources as saying that PIA had been collecting federal excise duty on tickets for two years but it was not submitted to FBR. PIA owes Rs 4.5 billion on which Forty-six and a half crore was recovered by freezing 50 PIA accounts across the country.
According to private TV, sources have claimed that PIA accounts will remain frozen till Rs 4 billion tax recovery.
