ISLAMABAD (Daily Pakistan Online): The government this morning increased the prices of petroleum products by more than 12 per cent.

According to the details, tax, duties, margins and levy are levied on petrol at Rs 25.22 per liter. The government has increased sales tax on petrol by 67 paise per liter, which has been increased to Rs 8.82 paise. Levy on petrol is Rs 5. 62 paise per liter. The cost of petrol to the government is Rs 112.57 per liter and the price of petrol for the people has been fixed at Rs 137.79 per liter.

Dealer commission on petrol is Rs 3.91 per liter, margin of marketing companies is Rs 2.97 per liter and freight is Rs 3.90 per liter.

It may be recalled that from today, petrol will be priced at Rs 137.79 per liter after an increase of Rs 10.49 per liter. The price of high speed diesel has been increased by 12 rupees 44 paise and the price of light diesel by 8 rupees 84 paise. The price of kerosene has been increased by 10 rupees 95 paise and fixed at 110 rupees 26 paise per liter. The price of diesel has been increased from Rs 122.04 to Rs 134.48 per liter and the price of light diesel has been increased from Rs 99.51 to Rs 108.35 per liter.
