Defense analyst Major General (retd) Ijaz Awan has said that the confusion over the appointment of Director General ISI has disappeared.
Talking to Geo News, the defense analyst said that the government and the army are on the same page on the issue of DG ISI.
He said that there was a procedural issue on the issue of appointment of DG ISI which has been settled, there are no differences.
Earlier in a media briefing, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry had said that the appointment of Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) was the authority of the Prime Minister.
He further said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had a long meeting last night.
Fawad Chaudhry also said that the Prime Minister and the Army Chief have an ideal, cordial and close relationship, and both agreed that legal procedure would be adopted for the appointment of DG ISI.
