Jeddah (Mohammad Akram Asad) A seminar was organized by the Pakistani Consulate General to promote investment. Saudi investors have described the seminar as useful and have expressed interest in investing in various lucrative projects in Pakistan.
The seminar was attended by 42 prominent Saudi businessmen and investors including Chairman Makkah Chambers of Commerce Khalaf bin Hussan Al-Otaibi, Sheikh Mazin M. Batterjee, Sheikh Ziad Bassam, Vice Chairman Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Hisham bin Muhammad A. Kaki, Mr. Abdullah Al Darwish , Sheikh Abdul Qadir Bashan, and General (retd) Mustafa Al-Jahani among others.
On the occasion, Ambassador of Pakistan Lieutenant General (Retd) Bilal Akbar apprised about the strong economy of Pakistan and the key factors that make it an attractive destination for investment. He highlighted the vast potential for investment in real estate development, including food safety, construction, including the New Pakistan Housing Scheme, agriculture and corporate farming, manufacture of sports and surgical equipment, and the Ravi Urban Development Project.
He urged Saudi investors to take advantage of the vast opportunities available in Pakistan, given the close strategic, economic and commercial ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He assured the Saudi investors of the full cooperation of the Embassy of Pakistan and the Consulate General as well as all possible facilities.
The seminar was part of a series of initiatives taken by Pakistani missions in the kingdom to promote bilateral trade and investment between the two brotherly countries, for which Consul General Khalid Majeed and Consul General of Jeddah Waheed Shah visited Saudi Arabia. By establishing relations with the investors, he gave them an opportunity to meet the Ambassador of Pakistan.
