ISLAMABAD (Daily Pakistan Online): The federal government has taken an important step to solve the problems of farmers on priority basis. A special category has been allotted for farmers on Pakistan Citizen Portal.
On the direction of the Prime Minister, a special directive was issued to the provincial governments for resolving the problems of the farmers in which it was said that the officers should take steps for immediate resolution of the grievances of the farmers.
A letter was issued by the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit to all the provincial governments. The Prime Minister’s Office said that the farmers would be able to register their problems directly on the Citizen Portal and the farmers would not have to visit government offices. Secretaries compile quarterly performance reports of officers on problem solving.
The letter said that 123 government officials have been assigned responsibilities for the problems of farmers, 43 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 57 in Punjab, 12 in Balochistan, four in Sindh and four in the federation. Two officers were given responsibility in Azad Kashmir and one in Gilgit.
The letter said that farmers would be able to lodge complaints on card, fertilizer, seeds, water theft, crop, commodity prices, pesticides and other 52 issues would be identified in a timely manner. The campaign should also be run.
