ISLAMABAD (Daily Pakistan Online): Pakistan has once again made preparations to drop petrol bombs on the people. Petroleum products are likely to become more expensive from October 1.
Private TV Geo News, citing sources, claimed that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent a summary of the increase in prices of petroleum products to the Petroleum Division. The final decision on the prices of petroleum products will be taken by the Ministry of Finance in consultation with the Prime Minister.
Sources said that from October 1, the price of petrol will go up by Rs 5.25 while diesel will go up by Rs 3.5. The change in the prices of petroleum products will depend on the petroleum levy and the general sales tax.
At present, the petroleum levy on petrol is Rs 5.62 per liter, while on diesel it is Rs 5.14 per liter, which is likely to increase.
