Lahore (Daily Pakistan Online): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has decided to allow people traveling to Afghanistan to carry only US ہزار 1,000 to curb the illegal flow of foreign currency abroad.

According to a SBP statement, the maximum annual limit for those traveling to Afghanistan will be ہزار 6,000. Measures have been introduced by the exchange companies to increase transparency in foreign exchange transactions and to curb illicit outflow of cash.

According to a SBP statement, travelers to Afghanistan will be allowed to carry US ایک 1,000 per visit with an annual limit of US 6 6,000. Exchange companies will have to verify biometrics for sales transactions and remittances sent abroad.

The statement added that the exchange companies would sell cash in the equivalent of US 10 10,000 and more and send remittances abroad only through checks or through banking channels. This condition will be effective from October 20, 2021.
