ISLAMABAD (Daily Pakistan Online): The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has transferred ارب 2.77 billion to Pakistan.

Private TV Geo News, citing sources, claimed that after receiving the money from the IMF, Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves will reach the highest level in history. Finance Ministry sources said that the IMF has given this loan unconditionally at a very low interest rate. It is not part of the IMF program for Pakistan and its return time has not been determined.

The IMF said in a statement that today was a historic day and that member states had received 50 650 billion. Member States can use this money unconditionally, money transferred to Member States can be used to increase foreign exchange reserves or to repay debts.
