The third major of 2021 is almost set to head into the weekend, though not everything has gone off without a hitch so far at the 2021 U.S. Open. The tournament’s schedule was jostled a bit Thursday morning with a weather delay of nearly two hours before Round 1 could even begin. However, the USGA was nevertheless able to get Round 2 started on time Friday as the U.S. Open returned to Torrey Pines for the first time since 2008.

This year’s affair in La Jolla, California, features a loaded field with most of the best golfers in the world in attendance. Bryson DeChambeau entered as defending champion after driving past the field last year to a six-shot victory, but he hasn’t gotten off to the hottest start. The headliner this week was Phil Mickelson, who turned 51 on Wednesday, but Lefty is already well over par and off the lead despite seeking the U.S. Open title to round out his career grand slam.

Russell Henley went out in Thursday’s first wave and posted a strong 4-under 67 to lead the field by a stroke, but while he’s still near the top of the leaderboard, it is Richard Bland who sits as the leader in the clubhouse at 5 under. Bland, 48, is playing in just his fourth career major championship and just won his first European Tour event last week.

While attending the U.S. Open can be a ton of fun, simply being able to watch golf on the game’s grandest stages is an incredible treat each year. We here at CBSSports.com are thrilled to bring you wall-to-wall coverage of the U.S. Open all week long. Enough talking about it. Here’s how you can watch as much U.S. Open as possible throughout the week.

Be sure to stick with CBS Sports for live coverage throughout the third major of the year, and check out our U.S. Open leaderboard for live scores and highlights from Round 2.
