Gilgit-Baltistan: An interesting news is circulating on social media that Sunni / Shia clerics in Gilgit-Baltistan (Pakistan) are trying to prove each other a liar by jumping into the fire.
According to details, in the presence of Gilgit district administration, Shia leader Agha Syed Rahat Hussain Al-Husseini and Sunni leader Maulana Qazi Nisar Ahmed will jump into the fire to prove their legitimacy. What survives the fire will be the truth, what will burn will be considered false.
A Pakistani citizen commented on the news on Twitter, “In the presence of the Gilgit district administration, Shia leader Agha Syed Rahat Hussain Al-Husseini and Sunni leader Maulana Qazi Nisar Ahmed will jump into the fire to prove their legitimacy. What survives the fire will be the truth, what will burn will be considered false. How much ignorance of Muslims will you hide?”
Another Twitter user commented further on the same tweet, “In last 48 hours only, China has successfully placed it rover on Mars and successfully tested flight of its advanced & fully owned space station. Americans are about to colonize Mars by 2028. And our priorities”.
Gilgit-Baltistan Government’s Reaction
According to the security alert issued by the home department, the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) directed to take essential steps to maintain law and order and to untoward incidents in the region.
The LEAs have also been directed to ensure the safety of public buildings and sensitive installations. The government directed police and other forces to stay alert across GB and maintain an emergency readiness state until further notice.
According to sources, the situation in the region was tense after the Shia and Sunni scholars decided to jump into the fire to prove their sect legitimacies.
The head of Central Imamia Council Gilgit-Baltistan Agha Rahat Hussain Al-Husseini in a speech earlier had challenged the Sunni clerics for a debate to prove the authenticity of Shia sect. He accused Sunni clerics of using delaying tactics as they have no genuine reasons to debate on the faith. Agha Rahat also urged the Sunni clerics to accept the Shia sect.
Later, a statement was issued on May 17 by Ahl-e-Sunnat-e-Jamaat Gilgit-Baltistan in which it was said that an important meeting of scholars and elders of the party and other religious and political parties was held under the chairmanship of Amir Tanzeem (leader).
The statement said that one party was constantly trying to disrupt law and order and insult the Sahaba in various ways. Therefore, all Muslims will play a constitutional and democratic role in peace.
A case of insulting the Sahaba will also be registered against the other sect. Also, the challenge of the debate was accepted and the place and time were demanded.
More to track from PAKISTAN…
