The Sindh government declares a public holiday on March 30th

Karachi: The Sindh government declared March 30th (Tuesday) a regional holiday relation to Shab-e-Barat, ARY News reported.

According to a notification issued by the Sindh government, all public and private educational institutions will remain closed on March 30 (15 Shaaban) in relation to Shab-e-Barat.

“In implementation of the decision made at the Education Steering Committee meeting held on Saturday, January 30, 2021, all public and private educational institutions under the administrative field of the College’s Education Department will remain closed on March 30, 2021, on the Shab-e-Barat account,” read the notice.

It is noteworthy here that Shab-e-Barat (Night of Atonement) is celebrated across the country with religious fervor and reverence every year.

Night falls on the fifteenth day of Shaban, about two weeks before the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan. Special prayers and redundant prayers are held throughout the night, seeking God Almighty.

Young Barat gives people an opportunity to seek forgiveness from God Almighty. People fast the next day as part of the year.
