Islamabad: The Anti-Terrorism Court rejected bail petitions filed by Mr. Tasdik Hanif, Secretary of the Bar Association of the Islamabad Supreme Court (IHCBA), and other attorneys in the attack on the city, ARY News reported Monday.

Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Rajaa Jawad Abbas heard bail petitions for Secretary of the Association, Tasad Hanif, member of the Bar Association, Nasir Kayani, and other lawyers today.

After hearing the arguments, the court rejected the bail petitions filed by the League’s secretary, members Naseer Kayani, Hammad Saeed, Rustam, and Muddassir Iqbal. Moreover, the court also reserved the rulings on requesting bail for other lawyers, including Fadlallah, Yunus Kayani, Akhtar Hussain, Ayoub Arbab, and others.

The court is expected to announce the ruling later today.

On February 8th, after the demolition of illegal district court rooms and hearings in Islamabad, angry lawyers stormed the Supreme Court building and roughly dealt with police officials, employees and journalists.

A large number of protesting lawyers outside the building threw stones while chanting slogans against the district administration and the chief justice of the city.
