Dubai: Omani Bahwan is pumping $ 10 million into Service My Car, an online service booking and repair platform. This is the first round of the initial funding for the latter.
Bahwan is one of the very diverse family owned groups in the Sultanate of Oman with wide interests in the automotive business.
“It is an emerging time for the automotive ecosystem as investors are noting the benefits of technology and digitization in the industry,” said Ozir Boda, CEO of Service My Car. “With this capital injection, we are looking to expand this convenience, affordability, and transparency to all car owners in the GCC.”
Service My Car was launched in 2018 and is part of a wave of digital-focused companies that want to rewrite the rules in the local and regional automotive sector. This has already been seen in the car rental business, with variations like Pay by the minute Tours offers.
Digital has also entered the framework in vehicle sales and maintenance, with leading dealers now launching their own online platforms.
Most of the innovations have focused on practical improvements at the garage level, but to date, companies have not focused on end-user convenience and affordability. Service My Car has shown exceptional results since its inception with a growth rate of 200% during its first year and 300% during the past year

Service My Car offers a 12-month labor and parts warranty. Ozier added, “We hope to expand our services provided through vehicle details, service contracts, roadside assistance, 4×4 accessories, car insurance, car rental and mobile phone service, to become the only online solution for all automotive needs.”
