Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will seek a confidence vote in the National Assembly (NA) today (Saturday).
Narcotics Anonymous session that President Dr. Aref Alwi called for a meeting today at 12:15 p.m. for this purpose.
The ruling coalition has 181 votes from 341 members in the National Assembly, while the opposition coalition gets 160 votes. The prime minister should get 171 votes.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will put forward the resolution calling for a vote of confidence from lawmakers in the lower house of parliament.
The resolution states: “This Council restores confidence in the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Imran Khan, as required under Clause (7) of Article 91 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”
In an effort to win a vote of confidence from the National Assembly, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed all members of the MNA in Pakistan to move equity to ensure their timely presence in the House of Representatives on Saturday (today).
In a letter addressed to members of the Afghan National Movement in their capacity as party leader, Prime Minister Imran said: “You are required to participate in the vote on a resolution to vote of confidence in the Prime Minister in accordance with the party’s directives.”
The Prime Minister warned that measures would be taken against the absent members of Parliament under Article 63-A of the Constitution.
