Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan secured a vote of confidence from the National Assembly with 178 votes.
Prime Minister Khan voluntarily announced a vote of confidence after Hafeez Al-Sheikh lost his election to the Senate. The Speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Caesar, upon announcing the results, announced that 178 members of the House of Representatives had trusted Prime Minister Imran Khan.
