With the busy international calendar, May could be the only time to host the tournament without having to cancel it
The remainder of the Pakistan Super League 2021 could end in May this year, leading to a potential head-to-head confrontation with the final stages of the Indian Premier League. Given the busy nature of the international calendar, which culminates in the T20 World Cup in October and November, ESPNcricinfo understands that if the PSL is to be completed this year, then May is the only window for that. Otherwise, the season may be at risk of being canceled.
The PCB CEO expressed confidence that they would find time to complete the league, saying that they were already looking at various options. “We will look at other windows and hope to play the event at a later time,” Wasim Khan said. “What is happening now is that we are leaving cautiously and slowly, taking players out of our environment so that we can safely get them out and they can start traveling wherever they need to travel in terms of moving forward. But we want that to continue and end PSL.”
