Islamabad: Monday’s Central Development Working Group (CDWP) meeting approved four projects with an estimated cost of 25 billion rupees and recommended two projects worth 44.3 billion rupees to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for further study.
The CDWP meeting, chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan, was attended by senior officials from the Planning Commission, federal ministries / departments and representatives of provincial governments.
Projects related to health, transportation and communication were presented at the meeting.
According to the officials, three health-related projects were approved at the meeting, worth 17 billion rupees. It included the Khyber Child Health Institute and the Peshawar Children’s Hospital, with a value of 7.99 billion rupees; “Strengthening of DHQ Hospital (Capacity Building for Response to Covid-19 and Future Epidemics) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with a value of Rs. 3.34 billion;“ Establishment of Mother and Child Hospital and Nursing College with 200 bed capacity in Bahaulnagar ”valued at Rp 5.62 billion.
The CDWP last week approved two projects worth five billion rupees as well as recommending three projects worth 53.50 billion rupees to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for further study.
