London (AFP) The Billie Jean King Cup finals, a former Fed Cup, were postponed for the second time on Thursday.
The International Tennis Federation said the 12-nation tournament could not be held as scheduled as an indoor event from April 13-18 in Budapest, Hungary.
Citing “the ongoing uncertainty and challenges due to the COVID-19 virus, both domestically and internationally,” the ITF said it will be rescheduled later in the year. The location has not been confirmed.
The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in April 2020, then was postponed when the pandemic was declared.
The International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) said the playoff round relations will continue as scheduled in April.
