NAB files reference against spouses


Islamabad: The National Accounting Office (NAB) provided a reference on Thursday Against a couple defrauding people under the guise of the counterfeit cosmetics trade in Islamabad.

The national graft investigator filed the reference before the relevant accountability court. Saadia Nadim and her husband Nadim Anwar are accused of plundering 49 million rupees from the people.

According to NAB, the office has received as many as 33 complaints against spouses who have presented themselves to the general public as importers of cosmetics from abroad and lured people to invest in their businesses by promising lucrative profits.

They plundered 49 million rupees from 33 complainants. Both defendants were arrested.

Last December, NAB DG ordered an investigation into the matter, which later turned into an investigation.
